President of the DKC since 2017 Andy, how did you come to take over the presidency of the DKC and what was your personal motivation? As we all know, my assumption of office had a sad reason: the sudden death of Bernd Freier. His loss left a huge gap in the DKC that could not be filled easily. In the weeks and months that followed, however, it became clear that many Elferrat members had chosen me as Bernd's successor. And as it happens: despite initial skepticism, this idea stuck with me and I gradually came closer to this position. What are your goals with the DKC? In the short term, my goal is to get the new season over and done with as well as possible. In the medium and long term, the DKC should continue to move forward; there must be no stagnation. This includes either maintaining or even lowering the current average age. This means that younger members will be integrated into the dance groups again. It's fitting that we have a new dance troupe to close the age gap between the children of the "Wichtel" and the "High Heels/Gentlemen". This gap has been a headache for us for some time. The new group is celebrating its premiere in the 47th season. November 4th (parade in Mittenwalde) and November 11th (storming of the town hall in Zossen) and thus your first official public acts are just around the corner: On a scale of 1 to 100, how excited are you? That's still within limits, my level is between 20 and 25. At the moment I still have far too much on my mind, speeches have to be written, the handover of official business is still ongoing, etc. House, farm, family, job, dancer, carnival speaker and now DKC president: how do you manage to juggle everything? With strong support from my family and other DKC members, to whom I can delegate a lot. But you have to make time for this position, so I gave up other tasks at the DKC (ticket sales, dancers at the Dance Battle).
